Right, the Progress Party, the Liberal Party and the Christian Democratic Party, which shall continue sounding government today might introduce an amnesty for asylum children who have been in Norway.
- The important thing for us going forward is that we avoid this kind of situations, but to address the situation of those who are in right now, we believe it is appropriate to introduce an amnesty before we go over to a new and more humane regime in asylum policy, says Kathy Melby, central board member of the Liberal Party.
While Faremo believes such amnesty can help to undermine the institution of asylum, believes Melby on the contrary, the coalition government policies that have made it.
- I think that it undermines the institution of asylum, is to pursue policies that are inhumane. Asylum policy should be fair, but it should also be humane, said Melby.
