The bomb blast in ADDIS

The bomb blast in ADDIS is still a hot issue for civil citizens and the society as a whole.  Private media sectors are reflecting their naive speculation; on the other hand, the dictatorial regime is shrewd on it and sends a signal to gain political de facto in the name of terrorism by connecting and diffusing the bomb blast incident into other political apparatus.

It’s difficult to accept such accusation where there are many home made scaremongering within the sphere of civil liberties. How could we believe it as long as there are unregistered killings here and there? How could we buy the incident in a place where there are worrisome arrests of journalists and freedom of speech and human right violation are increasingly under assault? How can we believe that in the land where any media information is biased and mingled to fulfill the dictatorial specific political target?
Ethiopia’s outside political intervention and /or involvement towards the global radicalism that infiltrated within the horn of Africa has its own negative political impact by challenging some groups that are already got the recognition in neighboring Somalia and in other volatile African countries.  At the same time, Ethiopia’s political appointees for foreign global campaign on terror may help the dictatorial regime to extend its power greed and makes it lucky to be untouched by the west. The political unrest in horn of Africa remains puzzle to the super powers in stabilizing the region and has no chance to find a leader that has two eyes in horn of Africa to work hand in hand with the west. So I guess for the west, EPRDF is more preferable on the go and fight mission for war on terror, “in the land of the blind, one-eyed man is lord” Machiavelli.
It is true that the world is stuffed with many little dictators because it is the shortest way (route) in quick decision making for the big bosses. Just as history tells us that the ancient Roman assigns small puppet emperors in their colonized third world empires to rule according to their wish and order. The south Sudan “Kiir” is the young boy to load and serve the US. Bashir and Issayas are at sore eyes with CIA, the little fragile Djibouti is almost one man’s island and smells more French than US. So, what is the big deal if US crowned EPRDF in the horn of Africa?
The US doesn’t care about the human right violation in Ethiopia and high number of innocent people in prison makes the country horn of African’s “Guantanamo.”  So long as  EPRDF stands for US, work hard on hunting and have no limber tail problem,  then, there is always in return the hampers as military intelligence, the package of loan, and other facilities at the back door of  EPRDF in the name of war on terror by US and  EU. They call this ‘bilateral co-operation’ or working for the so called the two countries’ “national interest.”
Super power countries at same time play a political double talk; supporting dictators on one hand and greeting dissidents on the other limb. This is simply thepolitical leverage. One of the US political interventions in Egypt revolution is a good example to our opposition parties and for the rest of the horn of African politicians.
“The country’s army and police forces are geared to the teeth thanks to more than $1 billion in military aid a year from Washington. … When the US officially describes Egypt as “an important ally” it is inadvertently referring to Mubarak’s role as a garrison outpost for US military operations and dirty war tactics in the Middle East and beyond. There is clear evidence from international human rights groups that countless “suspects” rendered by US forces in their various territories of (criminal) operations are secretly dumped in Egypt for “deep interrogation.” The country serves as a giant “Guantanamo” of the Middle East, conveniently obscured from US public interest and relieved of legal niceties over human rights.” (Finian Cunningham,Egypt: US-Backed Repression is Insight for American Public, Global Research, January 28, 2010).
The free media information in Ethiopia is totally far from the civil society. Peoples are obliged to listen one man band media propaganda; and those very small private media information centers are almost not functioning. Those who are survived from the regime cook-a-snook, are allowed only to report within the limits and the will of the dictatorial merits.
The anti terror law is décor with home made dramas to enhance their legitimacy and to immunize the flow of political right and civil liberties. The judiciary is officially shaped in the interest of the dictatorial regime to arrest suspects or “wanted” individuals without warrants. Cases could be prepared to fit draconian counter terrorism law against any peaceful political protesters, journalists, and on peaceful religious activists to impose punishment up to a death penalty for their civil rights question.
I am simply trying to emphasize and adhere how the dictators targeting the civil institution (organization) to be weakened and even replace by a new way of ruling mechanism to control the civil liberties. EPRDF always knows how to create scaremongering within the peaceful society and arousing abhorrent ethnic propaganda. The target is simply to atomized the people and turn into a mass of isolated individuals that are unable to work together to achieve freedom; unable to confide in each others and even to do much suspicious of any thing at their own initiative. The ethnic division is the life insurance for dictatorship. This mechanism is predictable when the population become weak, lack of confidence as the dictatorial government could have a chance to prolong his power by tricking peoples and injecting the mass demand a political tranquillizer.
Here I’m not putting my personal idea as “my way or the high way.”  I need to be considered that I am not here to denounce or have no aim of demonizing someone’s path and political beliefs in respect of floating ideas of virtue on how to end the deep rooted dictatorial regime in Ethiopia either in non-violent or armed struggle.
The armed struggle for freedom and democracy may sound good and convincing where there are no options to confront the present dictator. But no one can be sure in the long-run that the future is cured from dictators; because, we have seen for the last two decades that armed struggle and gun holders flattered the mass with undeliverable promises in the effort to get support during the struggle … promises that can not be kept and lead to disillusionment and even end up turning themselves into cruel roving bandits.
What we need to envisage and focus on is that civil liberties always cost us time and lives. If we need a century of liberation, then we should admit and know that there could be a smart longer time of non-violent struggle. The freedoms that we seek now needs our choice to shape the future and needs our personal transformation with matured political ideas, creating an inclusive political out looks atmosphere by accepting our political differences and exercising it democratically as well as nurturing the ICC and showing a full support in building a rule of law and accountability in Africa against looting, genocide, human rights violation with absolute impunity.
Attacking and confronting the dictators in non-violent way is working when dissidents are weak and at least not able to respond effectively. This will increase and help the resistance and aggravate the dictatorships problems and vulnerabilities. Non-violent struggle has strong democratizing effect through the process of diffusing power through out the society and furnishing the people with knowledge of how to struggle against the present and the future oppressors.
The diasporas patriots songs “LANCHI NEW AGERE, LANCHI NEW” doesn’t get the exact aspiration because it is still widely observed that  here the diasporas, the so called politicians,  are not yet aware of their muddle- headedness. Honestly saying the majority of the Ethiopian people truly needs to see innovative politician that can speak to his people in clear and frank way because simple honesty would be political refreshment. But, if they prefer to stay here and there, having different and none sense party stamp that has no power to confront and address the current plague in matured and competent way, then they are the quacks. If the oppositions, both in parliament and here in the Diasporas, are not unite in a wise way, then, it is an approval for the dictatorial regime as it is still the monkey master …  so long you are not planning and exploring ideas of politics, and enlightened! I never know where I belong in this small article but wherever you put me, I am happy enough at least I can help the idea to circulate.
